My name is Barbara Alden.  My desire is to share the Shamanic teachings of the Medicine people with you by providing information, connection, workshops and healing sessions with fellow journeyers like yourself.

It is one of my greatest hopes to train people in the practice of Energy Medicine by making available the many teachings that I have been fortunate enough to learn from.  My own evolution through this work has involved twenty years of Shamanic and Energy Medicine studies and twelve years of private practice in Energy work and Shamanic Pathwork in Ithaca, NY. 

My own journey began with a two-year apprenticeship with a Shamanic healer whose roots were in the Lakota tradition.  As journeys do, mine took me down many paths: Upledger and Milne Cranial Sacral, the IM School of Natural Healing, Rosilyn Brueyere (energy healer), Mantak Chia (Taoist Healer), Michael Harner’s Foundation for Shamanic Studies, Sandra Ingerman (Soul Retrieval) and most recently from Alberto Villoldo of the Four Winds Society, Healing the Light Body and Sage Program.  This last teaching has filled the gaps and made deep connections with the clear wisdom of the Inca medicine way.  These teachings have been clearly and cleanly passed down through a many thousand-year-old lineage of which I am now a part.

When the Conquistadors came to Peru 500 years ago the Laika (wisdom keepers) took the teachings from the Amazon, the Andean Mountains, and the waters up sixteen thousand feet into the mountains where no one would follow.  The Laika lived in the mountains and passed down the teachings within their own villages until about twenty-five years ago when the time had come, according to their prophecy, for the teachings to be spread more widely.  The Laika then descended to search for the people prophesied to receive and carry these wisdom teachings forward.  My teacher, Albero Villoldo was one of those chosen and trained with a Hatun Laika (master shaman) from the mountains for over twenty-five years.  I have been training with Alberto for several years and continue to receive teachings from the Inca elders. 

Along with many others, I feel this is a critical time for our own personal and global evolution.  The teachings I received provided me with healing wisdom that helped me to transform my life.  These wisdom gifts can be a channel for your healing and transformation as well.  I offer you the opportunity of joining me on this blessed journey of healing for yourself and all our relations.
